Dental Hygiene (DH)

Dental hygienists screen patients for oral diseases such as gingivitis, perform teeth cleanings, and provide other preventative dental hygiene care. They also educate patients on ways to improve and maintain good oral health. UH Maui College’s Dental Hygiene Program prepares students for this well-paid career track, and can be completed in 2 years* (five full-time semesters including one summer session).

The Fall 2019 Dental Hygiene (DH) Program Application is CLOSED for consideration for the Fall 2019 cohort.

Next application deadline is May 1, 2021, for consideration for the Fall 2021 cohort. The DH Program Application for the Fall 2021 cohort will be available on February 26, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

Attention: Interested/Incoming Dental Hygiene Program Students

Due to recent American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation recommendations,
changes have been made to the pre-admission requirements for the Dental Hygiene Program at UH
Maui College. Applicants are now required to complete the following:

1) Psychology 100 (3 credits)

2) Sociology 100 (3 credits)
